arcns marks, the independent-project position, the .circle retire-on-request policy, and how to report an infringing name.

Independent project

arcns is an independent project built and operated by Fortiblox. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Circle Internet Group, USDC, or the Arc network.

"Arc", "Circle" and "USDC" are marks of their respective owners. arcns uses those words only to describe compatibility: arcns runs on the Arc chain and prices registrations in USDC. Nothing on arcns should be read as a statement that Circle or the Arc team operate, approve of, or stand behind this service.

The .arc and .circle top-level names are namespaces inside the arcns contracts on the Arc chain. They are not DNS domains and they are not products of Circle.

The .circle namespace — retire on request

.circle is offered as a community namespace. If Circle asks us to withdraw it, we will retire it through the published pause → sunset → refund/migrate path (registrations paused, sunset date announced, holders refunded or migrated). This commitment is part of the Terms of use and was adopted as a project decision on 2026-09-06.

arcns marks

"arcns" and the arcns logo are marks of Fortiblox. They are not registered trademarks; Fortiblox claims common-law rights in them for a name service on the Arc chain. You may use the word "arcns" to refer to this service truthfully (for example "supports arcns names"). Do not use the arcns name or logo in a way that suggests your product is arcns or is endorsed by Fortiblox.

An unrelated project has used the name "ArcNS" for a separate name service on Arc testnet. Fortiblox's arcns is not that project and shares no code, contracts or operators with it.

Other marks

  • "ENS" and "Ethereum Name Service" are trademarks of True Names Ltd. arcns reuses ENS contracts under the MIT license; it is not ENS and is not affiliated with True Names Ltd.
  • All other product and company names are the property of their owners.

Names that infringe a mark

Registering a name gives you a token, not a trademark. Well-known brand names and Circle-related labels are reserved or blocked in every namespace (see Terms § 4). We cannot remove a name from the chain, but we can exclude it from our interfaces and refuse it in the reserved-name claim process.

If you hold a mark and believe an arcns name infringes it, email [email protected] with the name, the mark, and proof of ownership. Do not include private keys or other secrets. We answer every report.
